Kentuckiana’s Brady predicts it will be a big year for Father Patricks
by Dave Briggs
Kentuckiana Farms co-owner Bob Brady said he’s excited to have 12 Walners to sell at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, but he believes offspring of Father Patrick are going to sell well, too.
“I think it’s going to be an excellent year for Father Patrick. This is the crop that was bred after Greenshoe’s 2-year-old year and I think people will quickly recognize that there’s a tremendous amount of really top-bred individuals by Father Patrick this year,” Brady said. “This is his best group of mares bred probably since the first year, and the yearlings look like that. It’s just an excellent group.”
Kentuckiana is selling 101 yearlings in all — 27 of its own and 74 for clients. Sixteen of the yearlings were sired by Father Patrick.
As for Kentuckiana’s Walners, Brady said, “leading the way would be Walner colt, number 50 (Accelerate), out of All The Time. That’s just a super nice colt, nice big, strong colt. He moves right and we like him a lot. He’s got a hell of a pedigree.
“We also have a brother to Johan Palema, who won the Yonkers Trot, that’s a very nice colt, number 16 (Arne Palema).
“On the trotting filly side, we have a Walner sister to Selfie Queen (hip 80, Lucky Lakewood). She’s a pretty special filly that we like a lot. We also have a really, super sharp Muscle Hill out of Sunshine Delight (hip 115, Shiney Sunday).
