Hanover Shoe Farms to offer twenty yearlings online

Hanover Shoe Farms announces they will be selling twenty yearlings online in September. Ten will be offered by Preferred Equine Online on Monday, September 8 and ten will be offered by OnGait on Friday, September 19.
The groups consist of New Jersey, Ontario and Pennsylvania breds. There are two first foals and two are also Kentucky eligibles. Yearlings will be posted with catalog pages, videos and conformation photos. Yearlings will be available for inspection at the Hanover Fairgrounds, dates to be determined.
Russell Williams, President of Hanover Shoe Farms explained the rationale behind making this decision.
“We are cognizant of the economic challenges that face all facets of the industry. With over 200 yearlings to sell and the challenges of having enough staff to properly show them at the November Standardbred Sale, it made sense to reduce the total population so we can be more efficient and responsive to the needs of our potential buyers at the Farm Show Complex.”
“With the proliferation of online sales, these venues are logical choices to sell some of our 2025 yearlings.”
“Hanover Shoe Farm takes great pride in all the yearlings it annually offers and this year is no different. The change in venues should not deter potential buyers from bidding on well bred, well raised, quality individuals.”
