Sturman spot on with tote data column

I just wanted to reach out and say your article,
“It’s time to take tote data public,” was absolutely spot on.

As someone born and raised in harness racing, I consider it a privilege to help host the Little Brown Jug. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to answer the public’s questions about our wagering systems. Trying to decipher data from hundreds of OTBs is a massive undertaking, particularly during a high-traffic week like the Jug.

We have to do better. If the casual fan placing a $2 bet can’t have faith in the system, we’re in trouble — especially since explaining the actual math behind the pools is next to impossible.
