Rochard dominated in Paris

by Thomas Hedlund

Driver Benjamin Rochard had a great day at the track on Saturday (Oct. 28) afternoon when Vincennes played host to two big races for 3-year-old trotters.

In the $125,000 Prix Uranie for fillies Rochard steered William Bigeon trained Kana de Beylev (Express Jet) to a safe win after an early attack for the lead. Kana de Beylev is definitely one of the best horses in the French ”K-crop” and this time, in her fourth group-victory for the season, she came home in 1:57.2 over 1.3 miles.

A second over trip served by Rochard resulted in victory for Sébastien Guarato trained Kristal Josselyn (Bold Eagle) in the $125,000 Prix Victor Regis. Kristal Josselyn claimed his first group 2 win in a mile rate of 1:56.3 over 1.3 miles.

EASY FOR ADMIRAL AS

Daniel Redén trained Admiral As (Ready Cash) had a suitable task ahead of him when the $80,000 C.L. Müllers Memorial was held at Jägersro on Saturday (Oct. 28) afternoon. From a perfect post position, Örjan Kihlström pushed Admiral As to the lead after 500 meters and at that point the excitement in the race was gone. Admiral As sprinted to a safe win in a mile rate of 1:56.3 over 1.6 miles.
