Brower anchors HRU’s coverage of today’s Breeders Crown Cocktails for a Cause
The Meadowlands’ Dave Brower will anchor Harness Racing Update’s coverage of today’s (Oct. 4) Breeders Crown Cocktails for a Cause reception to be held from 1-2 p.m. (Eastern) at Fasig-Tipton prior to the start of the second session of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale which starts today at 2 p.m.
Brower’s segment, produced by the duo of Curtis MacDonald and Aaron Re, is sponsored, with our thanks, by Kentuckiana Farms (kentuckianafarms.com/).
You can watch our coverage of the event, featuring Brower’s interviews with VIPs, on HRU’s YouTube channel (here) and on Facebook (here).
This year, the proceeds of the auction and the Breeders Crown Charity Challenge, which has raised over $800,000 in its first three years, will benefit:
- Milton District Hospital Foundation — team Brad Grant and Doug McNair
- Pine River Institute — team Steve Heimbecker and James MacDonald
- Kids Help Phone Line — team Determination and Bob McClure
- Toronto General Hospital Heart Research Centre – SickKids Hospital Toronto — team Libfeld-Katz and Louis-Philippe Roy
Each team has already pledged $25,000, which guarantees their charity of choice a minimum donation in that amount. An additional $100,000 has been raised through donations made by industry participants.
With a minimum $25,000 guaranteed to be directed to each charity, the additional monies will be decided through a Driver Challenge and Social Media Challenge.
Supporters are asked to go on Twitter and use the hashtag of their favorite team and include #CrownCharity22. Team Brad Grant/Doug McNair’s hashtag is #GrantUsVictory
