Winbak Farms’ yearling manager Jimmy Ladwig said the farm’s lineup for the Standardbred Horse Sales Company’s (SHSC) sale, which begins Monday (Nov. 8) in Harrisburg, PA, is solid all the way through, but features the sister to Tequila Monday and I’ll Drink To That, Hip 346 Margarita Time.
“She’s a nice filly,” Ladwig said. “We’ve also got a lot of nice American Ideal fillies and some nice strong American Ideals in general.”
Ladwig specifically mentioned Hip 343 Americas Wonder, an American Ideal filly out of Makes You Wonder and Hip 438 Sand In The Hand, an American Ideal filly out of Sun N Sand.
Winbak, the sport’s second leading breeder, is selling 64 horses in the yearling sale and an additional 20 Delaware-bred yearlings in the mixed section of the sale that starts Thursday (Nov. 11).
Ladwig also highlighted Hip 169 Twisted Promise, a Chapter Seven filly, Hip 268 Strong Opponent, a Tactical Landing colt out of Eight Bells, Hip 581 Crypto Currency, an International Moni colt and Hip 591 Call Me Bad, a Cantab Hall colt out of CR Sister Suzie.
“He’s good looking, too. He’s on the small side, but still looks like a little powerhouse,” said Ladwig, who also mentioned Hip 903 Night Terror, a “really nice Badlands Hanover colt.”
Ladwig said Winbak has had a great year at the sales, so far.
“Goshen was good. Then, Ontario was really good. We did really well in Lexington. So, yeah, we’ve had a really good year,” he said, adding that he sees no reason it won’t continue in Harrisburg.
