More diamonds to mine at Harrisburg

My picks for the best yearlings on Day 3.

by Murray Brown

I’ve done some picks for Days 1 and 2 at Harrisburg. It would be incomplete, unfair and irresponsible not to do the same for Day 3. If you think the champions may not be there, just think of what that session has produced in recent years: the fastest horse to ever look through a bridle Bulldog Hanover ($2,419,900), the international star Nuncio ($3,027,500) and the great filly Twin B Joe Fresh ($1,293,928), just to mention three that come immediately to mind. Bulldog Hanover brought $28,000, Nuncio fetched a measly $7,000 and Twin B Joe Fresh sold for $65,000. Together the three sold for $100,000 and have earned $6,741,928. That’s without mentioning how much money they will generate in their stud careers.

The wise shopper will once again be remiss if he or she does not peruse this section of the catalog diligently and be sure to look at those horses who’s pedigrees are of interest.

I have gone through the offering fairly closely and have come up with the following yearlings who if I were the shopper, I would certainly look at. I have limited the group to one per sire, but there were several sires such as American Ideal, Bettor’s Delight, Father Patrick, Green Manalishi S, Huntsville, International Moni, Shadow Play, Sweet Lou, Stay Hungry and Tactical Landing that had more than one yearling in this group that I found to be of interest.

Here they are:
